For several years, Oakland, California-based artist Gabriel Navar created scores of images focusing on obsessive/compulsive use of smart phones. With the more recent expansion of virtual reality, he’s taken on a new adversary, as you can see in this set of images that captures the ubiquitous plaything of the century — almost certainly destined to become the 22nd Century’s buggy whip. I wonder if they’ll understand that reference 100 years from now. — MRF
